Kokan Welfare Society – Kuwait

The Executive Committee of Kokan Welfare Society, is pleased to announce the formation of Kokan Welfare Society in Kuwait. The main objective of the society is welfare of the Kokani community working in Kuwait (i.e. welfare of people from Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhdurg, and Thane districts of Maharashtra).

The membership is open for all Kokanis residing in Kuwait. The Executive Committee would like to register the society with Embassy of India, Kuwait. Those willing to join the society may please contact :

We seek help and support from all quarters of our community to establish the KWS and achieve its objectives. Main activities of KWS will be:

1)    Helping the needy Kokani community.

2)    Creating education awareness among Kokani community.

3)    Guiding and helping the people about various educational facilities available and admission procedures.

4)    Helping economically weaker students to complete their basic education.

5)    Helping the needy and enthusiastic students for higher education.

6)    Guiding and helping people by showing about various employment opportunities available to them.

7)    Helping to build schools, colleges, professional institutes, vocational guidance centers, Islamic education centres.

8)    Helping the people affected by calamites and disastrous conditions.

9)    To organize social get-together, artistic and literary activities, competitive and recreational sports.

10) To promote teaching of Islam in order to create an ideal community to foster brotherhood among human beings.

11) To act as a coordinating body for societies, associations from kokan area operating in Kuwait.

The Executive Committee was elected during a meeting of large number of like minded people held recently. Following members were elected as Office bearers :

5)    Dr. Rahmattullah Galsulkar -Joint Secretary

6)    Faisal Kazi- Treasurer,

7)    Mohd Shafi Alware as Joint Treasurer

8)    Yacoub Solkar ,Taj Ahmed Khan, Ibrahim Haswarey,Shaukat Firfiray, Ashfaque Solkar, Khaleel Kapdi,Zahid Rawoot, Mufti Hamza Falahi, Hafiz Abdul Salam Rawoot were elected as Executive Committee members.
