Konkan Tribune is a community blog portal. A vision of Konkan Tribune is to :
- maximize reach out to Kokanis around the globe;
- create a common platform for community to share ideas, interests and activities across political, economical, and geographical borders with no cost; and
- prosper the community social being by inspiring, motivating and building confident within the youngsters.
This all has been possible today thanks, to the internet technology which has made possible for existence of a community. If community exists, both freedom and security may exist as well. The community then takes on a life of its own, as people become free enough to share and secure enough to get along. The sense of connectedness and formation of social networks comprise what has become known as social capital.
At Konkan Tribune we put efforts to keep our community in touch with their roots, heritage and culture. But this will not be possible without help from every individual; every individual effort is counted. Also nowadays the concept of news has been democratized. Increasingly, news is more about people, communities, sports, cinema, art, culture and a host of other issues that affect the daily lives of ordinary people. No longer can a media group claim mastery over the ways in which the news should be provided to readers. An individual is both the consumer and the generator of the news. This is why interactivity is our mantra and we invite all our readers to contribute to this blog portal and share news, stories, photos, videos, events and other thing they consider important to fit for coverage.
